Tips for Putting on a Great Halloween Party

On Halloween, the night of phantoms and witches, an unforgettable party should recreate a truly frightening night! With monsters, witches, mummies and original terrifying costumes, and of course scary decorations that leave your guests breathless.

The darkness must be the queen of the party; with some light coming out from candles in skulls around the room. A monster hanging at the entrance with terrifying eyes that light up on your guests as they arrive is a great creepy detail.

Roof covered with spider webs with vampires and spiders all around the place and a couple of small witches flying in their brooms. Some monster face cutouts that seem to be emerging from the walls and a big cauldron in a corner with some thick liquid and worms, spiders and other disgusting artificial animals in it, will give the right ambience to the party.

Everybody will approach the dining table, so you’d better take care of the table decoration. Place plastic spiders, cockroaches, worms and snakes all over it. If you can get some plastic bloody hands and skulls they’ll make great centerpieces! Serve punch in an battered pot and treats on old trays. Add fun and disgusting labels to treats and drinks: punch can be ‘Bloody Brew’, pumpkin pie can be ‘Guts Pie’ and green jelly can be called ‘Alien Snot’.

Try to find an old chest and put a plastic skeleton’s hand and foot sticking out. Make a few graves out of cardboard and write original inscriptions on them. Place them around the garden; if you don’t have one put them at the entrance of your house.

Now all that’s needed to complete this ghastly environment are some horror sounds coming out from the night. Buy a horror sounds cd or record such sounds with your own howls, screams and any other freaky noises that you can make!
