How to Make Your Halloween Party a Scary Good Time
Everyone loves a good scare. How can it not be fun to shriek during a good scary movie when the ghost of the unborn suddenly knocks on the door of an unsuspecting household? Isn’t it exciting to tell ghost stories, then suddenly turn around when you start to sense that someone is watching you?
So, if Halloween is your thing, why not prepare a good, scary Halloween party? Be sure to bring in a good scare... no one wants a dull party! If you are still a novice in these things, I will give you some great tips to make sure that your Halloween party can make even the bravest soul scream with utmost fright.
Watch Scary Movies
One of the things that you can rely on to deliver that ghostly terror is a good ol’ bunch of scary movies. Scary movies have consistently topped the box office and are sure to supply that much needed scare. Who can forget that shower scene in Psycho? Or the unforgettable character in Silence of the Lambs that is Dr. Hannibal Lecter. Why not watch Nightmare on Elm Street, Sixth Sense, or The Others? There are a huge number of scary movies that you and your friends can enjoy over that large steaming bowl of microwave popcorn.
Be sure to decorate your house with scary Halloween supplies on the horror movie you just watched. Terrifying props on Hellraiser, Freddy Krueger and Friday the 13th will remind guests of the creepy scenes they just saw!
Have a Halloween Scavenger Hunt
Having a good Halloween scavenger hunt will be a great way to spice up any Halloween party. A good place for a good search and find game is any dark and scary place like the cemetery in the corner of the street or that old house that no one has lived in for years. Place scary stuff like fake goo, plastic eyeballs, toy insects or small freaky dolls in nooks and crannies so it won’t be that easy to find them.
For extra chills, decorate the place with scary Halloween supplies. A Hanging Grim Reaper in the middle of an empty room, hanging heads behind doors or skeletons behind tombs will surely scare everyone out! For an added twist, ask the neighborhood boys to dress up with wild and scary costumes to surprise the scavengers while they are out looking for the scary stuff on their list.
Tell Ghost StoriesImagination can play tricks on you and give you even a greater scare than horrifying images in a movie or creepy Halloween decorations. Light the room dimly with candles where the story telling will take place. Tell stories that happened in that room, and make sure you plan out some pranks to pull on the listeners!
